Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

2006 Pontiac GTO Owner Comments

problem #2

Oct 042008

  • 7,000 miles

My car has worn out three sets of tires since 8/7/2006 when I purchased it new. I had a flat tire today. When I took the tire off the driver rear side of the car it was badly worn on the inner threads again. It looked to me that the tire had actually rubbed something as opposed to tire wear. I was so aggravated when I finally got home I went on and was advised by other members that the issue is called strut rub. I will be contacting GM when they open today. I am in the process of finding out what parts will correct the problem.

Under normal driving the strut leaked, at 600 miles on new Pontiac GTO. There seems to be no replacement parts!!! could be a safety issue at high speed. Dealer service dept. Told me to drive it until a strut can be found!! GTO forum on internet said there have been 26 complaints so far!!!!!!!!
