My 2013 Porsche diesel Cayenne was involved in the emissions problem recall. The court agreed with Porsche on a fix that would not decrease the performance and economy of these 3.0 diesel cars. I was given a check for a good amount when the fix was done. The settlement look good at first. Then when I picked my car up from the dealer, I was told to expect some minor driving changes at first, but my cars computer would learn over a short time and everything would be normal again. This was in the spring of 2018.

After several tanks of fuel, I noticed that the mpg had suffered and was not improving. In addition to that, the acceleration was down. The worst part is the lag time it takes to move out from a stop. Typical scenario....stopped at a busy intersection and looking for a break in traffic to pull out. What looks to be a very acceptable gap appears and I attempt to pull out, press the pedal and nothing. Press more because the next car is closing in, then it takes off and will scare the s**t out of you!

If you are not experienced with this you will find yourself in the next lane. Throttle modulation had been screwed. Feels like a giant case of turbo lag. Now the EGR light is on. I look at resale value of my car and find that my settlement check is probably less than the depreciation of the car due to the bad press.

I have reported the problems to Porsche USA and was told that they only take the Porsche techs opinion as to if a problem exists! My opinion is not accepted. What was to happen if the fix did not work and/or caused problems? I never read that in the settlement. Porsche and the judge should have made that clear. Better than that, the cars should have been bought back like the earlier versions of the engine. I see the need for another class action to resolve this.

Everyone that has a similar experience should report to Porsche and any social media outlet to get a remedy.
