Wife and I were driving and we heard a grinding or loud rubbing sound. Pulled over to see the fuel tank hanging close to the ground. Thank goodness no fuel lines broken. Front strap looks ok, but where the strap goes looks damaged or rotted.

Truck will stall out pulling out in traffic with no signs of a problem. It happened to me today with my kid in the truck. This is unacceptable. This trucks are to expensive to have this. It also will surge and try to go without foot on gas. This is totally unsafe. Dodge needs to fix this.

Front fuel tank strap mount rusted through allowing strap to pull out and front of fuel tank to drop down. This is the same problem that happened on the same model pickups in year model 2008 - 2012. In my research up to this current point the situation on my vehicle is the same problem on the previous year models. I will be reaching out to a Dodge dealer to see what can be done about issue. I feel that your department should be researching this issue further because upon reading some forums, that this issue does appear on even newer year models.

I was driving down the interstate and started to see flames and smoke coming from my hood. I pulled over and was able to put out the fire. The fire department showed up and determined that the fire started from the fuel injector system.

The front fuel tank strap pulled through the frame mount which was highly corroded, causing the front of the fuel tank to drop significantly down and be held up only by the rear hanger strap and rubber fuel line. I heard a noise underneath after filling the tank and looked to see the fuel tank hanging way down. If this had dropped further or been hit by a road imperfection while driving it could have resulted in significant fuel leakage, and fire or explosion. I contacted the local dealer who said this was nothing they could repair. I contacted FCA Customer Care who infomred me I was out of warranty and they would not help. The same issue has been recalled on 2009-2012 RAM 1500 trucks under #U04 (Part 573 Safety Recall Report 18V-160). The bracket accumulates water and has no drain hole, resulting in long term corrosion. I have read of many other instances of this failure on RAM forums. My local repair specialist confirmed the issue and created a work around to secure the tank, but it is not a factory level solution. Repair cost was $1,066.28 including towing, but again, this is not a factory level solution. Pictures of my rusted strap mount and tank dropped down attached.

I heard a metallic scraping noise from my truck pulled over to inspect the undercarriage. My fuel tank is hanging down approximately 6 inches. Upon closer inspection I see that one of the two metal retaining brackets has come undone. It appears the bracket welded to the frame of the truck has corroded and the metal strap pulled through the deteriorated rusty metal. After doing some online research this is a well-known problem which is the subject of a previous recall (# 18VI6000) by Chrysler. The problem is the recall data from 2009 to 2012 and my truck is a 2013. I called both my local dealership and then the FCA customer care line. Both informed me this is not covered under a recall. My question is; Since this is obviously the exact same problem as many other vehicle owners have experienced and it was covered under a previous recall, what can I do to be compensated and have this problem fixed? The truck is currently UNSAFE to drive. Thank you very much Tim

The fuel level gauge/sensor has failed 3 times now, making it impossible to know the fuel level when driving. It was repaired in January 2019, and again in July 2019, and failed again in August 2020 and remains broken due to the ridiculously high repair cost. This is a common problem with Ram pickups and should be a recall. When the fuel gauge fails the check engine light comes on and stays on until cleared by a technician. This is a safety hazard because the driver has no way of knowing how much fuel is actually in the tank and could easily end up with the driver being stranded on a busy interstate or in a dangerous situation.

The fuel tank straps and mounting bracket rusted out and disengaged from the tank. Front part of the tank hanging down. Very dangerous. Dodge does not have a recall for 2013 Ram 1500. They need to address this asap like they did for previous year vehicles.

My truck will not start, it won't even turn on.it continuously says check the fuel cap and the check engine light will turn on but absolutely nothing is wrong with it (before it started to act up). Even though it seems like the batteries dead and we know it won't turn on it's still making a loud like clicking or knocking noise. It will stop for a minute and then start again. I've never heard a car do that before so I don't think that's normal. My clicker key won't even work to lock or unlock or even set the panic off.

I tried this once and lost it downloading a picture. I had a problem putting gas in my truck. It kept making the gas pump pop. Eventually it took 30-40 min to get gas in it. I started using a 5 gallon gas can to get gas in it. I took it to my mechanic and it cost over a thousand dollars to fix. Also I had a problem with my tailgate opening while I was driving, one of the times a trailer was attached and it opened an hit the hitch and dented it making it hard to open it. One day I stopped at a business on joppa rd in perry hall to pick up 2 lawnmowers and when I pulled out on joppa road and the tailgate popped open again and the mowers fell out and started grilling down the road and luckily the owner of the business saw it happen and helped me catch them before they caused and accident. I'm not going to try to download a picture because I don't want to lose this again. I never got recalls on these things until after these things happened

Engine check, traction control, anti-skid lights comes on with a message throttle control requires service. The engine losses all power or stalls making vehicle difficult to control, stop and get out of traffic. I have replaced the throttle control while the check engine light was on, it did not correct the problem. After the truck sits for a day or two all problems clear. 4-23-2019 is my third incident in 4 months.

While driving the vehicle there was intermittent non response when the accelerator pedal was depressed resulting in the opposite effect on a busy road. Once while entering a highway on ramp the vehicle stalled completely, after restarting there was intermittent non response when the accelerator was depressed on a busy highway. The problem is related to a corroded fuel pump relay located in the tipm unit under the hood of many model year Dodge Ram. This same issue has been the subject of recalls issued for other Dodge products. This is a serious safety issue that Dodge refuses to acknowledge leaving the burden of repair to the consumer.

On 3 separate occasions, while driving and attempting to stop, the engine stalls. A message displays to "put the vehicle in park, to start", but lost power to everything else. Twice it allowed me to start from park, the 3rd time it would not start. I put it in park, had my foot on the brake, but it did nothing. I shut if off completely, then turned it back on and it started. Additionally, while parked, the driver's side door would not unlock with the keyfob. All other doors unlocked, not the driver's door. I tried several times locking/unlocking, I had to open the rear door and manually pull the lock knob. One other time, while sitting still, the driver's door unlocked itself, when my roommate pulled on the door handle, the door opened and the alarm went off. On another occasion, I was trying to back into my parking space, I went to pull up to straighten out, and the vehicle would not go into drive. I had to shift into park, then back to drive to make it work.

I have had an engine light on for quit some time and I took it to the dealer, they said it was a fuel cap. After leaving there a few days later, same thing. But then I noticed fueling it up took 15 to 20 minutes. So I took it back I android them about the light and the fueling problem. After hours of searching I get a call saying that my filter laying in the frame of the truck was plugged. Which sucked my fuel tank down like a pancake. I also noticed that instead of the fuel cap breathing out itwassucking in, pulling all kinds of dust into the tank. I was never told about this filter when I purchased the vehicle brand new from the dealer. I have found no literature on this either. I bought the extended warranty on truck and it is not covered. What can I do?

I was waiting at a red light waiting to make a left turn. I got a green arrow to turn left and proceeded into the intersection. Right after I started moving at about 1/2 way through my turn my truck's engine completely died. I coasted the rest of the way through the intersection and off to the side of the road. The dealer's analyses was that the fuel pump module failed, causing the engine to shut down.

When we purchased the Ram 1500/V6 engine pickup truck new in April 2013, johnson Dodge, budd lake, NJ, it did not hesitate and ran well. Over the next three months it slowly developed an significant, one second plus, hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop. The service manager [xxx] at johnson Dodge test drove and agreed there was a hesitation but couldn't/can't fix/adjust it do to everything being controlled by computer modules. He said, "until they, (Ram engineers), release a software fix/update or tech bulletin, there was nothing he/they could do." This hesitation is so severe it requires the driver to anticipate the delay and than pre-press the accelerator when crossing a street in heavy traffic or other situation requiring timely accelerator response. I believe this hesitation and lack of dealer correction creates a very dangerous driving requirement of me and any other driver of these pickup trucks.
