A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I HAVE A 4 DOOR TRUCK AND THERE IS SELDOM ANYONE IN THE BACK SEAT TO NOTICE ANY WATER INTRUSION WHEN IT OCCURS. SOME TIME AGO, I NOTICED THAT THE BACK SEAT WAS WET, BUT THOUGHT THAT I MUST HAVE HAD THE SLIDING GLASS WINDOW PARTIALLY OPENED.

BUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A RARE RAINSTORM HERE IN TEXAS, I NOTICED A DRIP. THE TEMPORARY SOLUTION WAS TO DRAPE A TOWEL OVER THE BACK SEAT TO ABSORB AND EVAPORATE ANY WATER THAT LEAKED THROUGH. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY IMMEDEATLY POINTED OUT THE CRACKS IN THE TOP OF THE WINDOW FRAME, BUT SINCE IT NOW HAS OVER 70K MILES ON IT, SO THEY WON'T COVER IT WITH THE WARRANTY.

THIS IS A BUNCH OF BS, BECAUSE THEY SENT OUT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO THE DEALERSHIPS IN APRIL OF 2021 WITH A RECOMMENDATION TO REPLACE THE FAULTY WINDOW ASSEMBLY. IF THIS WAS SO IMPORTANT THAT THEY FELT THE NECESSSITY TO INFORM THE DEALERS, WHY DID THEY THEY NOT ALSO INFORM THE OWNERS OF THE POTENTIALLY AFFECTED VEHICLES. ESPECIALY IN MY CASE, WHERE THERE IS RARELY ANYONE RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT AND WE DON'T GET A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF RAIN TO IDENTIFY A LEAK WHEN IT DOES OCCUR.

Took it to the dealer and they looked at the issue. Checked with my extended warranty and they stated it wasn't covered. I guess extended warranties aren't worth getting if they won't cover items like this. I might be over on miles, but the truck is not even 3 years old. I bought it in Sept 2020.

1500 Limited 5.7L

I bought a 2019 Ram Laramie 4X4 July 2019. After 1500 miles I noticed the rear windshield was leaking during rain. I called the dealership (Arrigo Ft. Pierce) and filed a claim. They checked it and said rear window had a sealant void, so they corrected it. Few weeks go by and again during a rain I noticed it was leaking again... Long story short I filed for a replacement vehicle and was awarded that.

Replacement vehicle is a 2020 Ram Limited. Now, yesterday it rained like hell - went to truck to get something out of it and noticed that it too has a leak in the same area. So I now have to go through this process of trying to get this POS fixed when the dealership will not be able to correct (already established this from the last truck) or trade it in and get what I should have gotten the first time.

DO NOT BUY A RAM 1500 without taking it to the car wash or soaking it with the hose!
