The contact owns a 2013 Ram 2500. While the vehicle was reversing out of the garage, the rear wheels suddenly seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was discovered (after the rear wheels were removed) that the emergency brake pads had detached and fell into the rear axle. The brake pads were removed, but were not replaced. After contacting the local dealer (don Chrysler/Dodge in Cadillac, mi), the contact was informed that the failure was common among this model vehicle and occurred due to lack of use of the emergency brakes. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 70,000.
