I first noticed a gas smell in the cab when the weather started to get colder, at first startup when temp is below 30f. I read that there have been two issues reported with this model of car. One is the fuel pump and I called Subaru and they said that the pump had been replaced before I bought the car. The other reported issue is the rubber connections for the fuel lines under the intake manifold. I can see the rubber hoses on the driver's side and can see no leaks. I cannot see the ones on the passenger side even with a remote viewing camera. I understand it's not a cheap fix to pull the manifold.

This is something Subaru should step up to the plate and fix. I have worked on a lot of engines but really don't want to do this project, especially if it probably will just happen next winter.

The smell seems to be worse when the tank is full. So I will drop the tank and see if the replacement pump didn't really fix the first issue.
