rear wiper motor not working

This is a 2017 Subaru Forester Premium 2.5 fours years old with 68,030 miles. Our rear wiper stopped working one day. I took the interior rear hatch panels off to be able to see the rear wiper motor. I tested the voltage going to the rear wiper motor which tested good. With the rear wiper motor switch turned on, the rear wiper motor heated up quickly. I turner off the switch. I looked around and saw that the rubber seal to keep out water was leaking and corroded the shaft of the motor which caused the motor to seize up and stop working. I'm going to contact Subaru to see if they can cover this as the car is outside of the warranty period.
