The car is possessed and tried to drive me off the road!
Something is wrong with the safety electronics, especially Lane Assist. It's been a bit quirky for the past 2 months, especially with lane assist. But while driving on I-95 last week, a very scary thing happened. After hanging up on a phone call, most of my safety features stopped completely (blind spot, lane assist, back-up, rear cross-traffic, the lights that indicate when another car is on the left or right, etc.). And the audio on the radio was gone.
The lane assist was particularly frightening because it kept correcting my position in the lane, even when I was okay. Tried to drive me out of the lane and into the next! It was very difficult to overcome that, like the car was possessed and fighting my steering wheel (it took much more than the usual nudge of the steering wheel to override lane assist). I pulled off in a rest area and shut down the car for a few minutes. When restarted, it improved (lane assist stopped fighting me) but the cross-traffic sensors and radio audio didn't come back to normal until the next day.
