I no longer have this car as it was totaled in late May 2007. But now that I have a new one & it has done the same thing I think it really needs to be reported. Both cars off show-room floor. One morning I went out to reverse out of my inclined (thank God!) driveway and the little light that showed your gear was a square w/an X through it. Luckily I was on a hill and rolled back though. It started doing this a lot and would buck if you didn't notice it wasn't working and put your foot on the gas. It then started to roll back on hills when in drive like a manual trans. Then it started to do the gear thing in drive and would roll forward down hills while in reverse. Very crazy. Took it in to the dealer and they "fixed" it. It did work for a while but before it got totaled it started again. We went and got a new one to replace the old one and what do you know? It was only a couple 1000 miles in when it did the X'd out gear thing and started rolling on hills. It stopped before we got a chance to take it in but I am sure that it will happen again. I am assuming that this is a transmission problem but I have also had the "no start" problem as well. Might be related.
