Toyota Recalls Prius and Lexus HS 250h
Brake booster pump problems cause recall of 87,000 vehicles.

— Toyota today announced they will recall 87,000 model year 2010 Toyota Prius and Lexus HS 250h vehicles.  Toyota said these vehicles are equipped with a brake pressure accumulator that may crack on an internal part due to vibration.

Nitrogen gas could leak into the brake fluid.  Stopping distance could be affected as nitrogen is released into the brake fluid.

Toyota dealers will inspect the brake booster pump assembly to see if it is equipped with the accumulator and if needed, replace the brake booster pump assembly.

The recall is expected to begin in late July, 2013.  Owners can contact Toyota at 800-331-4331 or Lexus at 800-255-3987.
