Audi Recalls A4, S4 and Allroad Vehicles For Air Bag Problems
Front air bags could fail in certain types of accidents in the Audi A4, S4 and Allroad vehicles.

— Audi is recalling almost 102,000 model year 2013-2015 Audi A4, S4 and Allroad vehicles with front air bags that could fail to deploy in a crash.

Audi discovered the problem during routine testing in August 2014 when it found an improper algorithm in the air bag control module. Audi found if a crash triggers the deployment of the side air bags, a second impact to the front of the vehicle may not trigger the front air bags to deploy.

Further analysis found reported incidents in Europe which led to Audi management deciding to order the recall on October 17, 2014.

The recalled 2013-2015 Audi A4 and S4 cars were manufactured February 16, 2012, to October 21, 2014. The 2013-2015 Audi Allroad vehicles were manufactured March 12, 2012, to October 21, 2014.

The recall is expected to begin on November 11, 2014. Audi dealers will update the air bag control unit software.

Owners of the Audi A4, S4 and Allroad vehicles may contact Audi customer service at 800-822-2834 and give them recall number 69K5.
