Nissan Recalls Pathfinder For Leaking Transmission Fluid
Nissan Pathfinder has transmission fluid leaks due to hose problems.

— Following a seven-month federal investigation, Nissan is recalling over 3,000 model year 2013 Pathfinder SUVs for transmission leaks.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened the investigation after complaints about leaking transmission fluid. The initial investigation included the 2013 Infiniti JX, but Nissan says only the Pathfinder needs to be recalled.

The defect is the internal oil cooler hose that can detach from the cooler and cause fluid to leak. Nissan blames the problem on the clamping force used to attach the hose to the cooler.

The recall should start in May, 2014. Nissan dealers will install a hose repair kit to keep the hose firmly attached to the cooler.

Owners of affected 2013 Pathfinders can contact Nissan at 800-647-7261.
