Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Honda recalls 2017 Ridgeline pickup trucks to repair wire harnesses at risk of electrical shorts.

— After just recalling more than 640,000 Odyssey minivans, Honda is recalling about 9,200 Ridgeline pickup trucks because of electrical problems. Honda says the Ridgeline trucks have rear wire harnesses that may not have been spliced correctly by the supplier.

The automaker says it learned of problems on the new trucks through warranty claims that described electrical shorts that cause warning lights to illuminate.

In some cases the trucks will brake on their own because of problems with the vehicle stability assist systems, but Honda says no crashes or injuries have been reported.

The electrical problems are blamed on moisture that intrudes into the wiring harness and the electrical coupler located under the truck.

Honda dealers will inspect and if needed, repair the rear wire harnesses, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not released details about the recall.

CarComplaints.com will update this page when more information is known, but until then, owners of 2017 Honda Ridgeline trucks can contact the automaker at 888-234-2138.
