Mercedes-Benz Recalls Vehicles For Stability and Head Restraint Issues
Mercedes recalls 64 vehicles to fix problems with head restraints and stability control.

— Mercedes-Benz is recalling 64 vehicles in two recalls, one that involves only two vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz GLC300, GLC300 4Matic, C300 and C300 4Matic Recall

Mercedes is recalling 62 vehicles that can experience stability and parking brake problems.

The automaker says the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, GLC300 4Matic, C300 and C300 4Matic vehicles have damaged electronic stability program control units. Mercedes says the damage may have occurred before the units were installed in the vehicles.

The problem can cause the stability control feature to activate and alter the vehicle's path, in addition to causing the electronic parking brakes to fail.

The recalled Mercedes vehicles were built February 8, 2016, to May 18, 2016.

The recall should begin in October 2016 so the electronic stability program control units can be replaced by dealers.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe 450 AMG 4Matic Recall

Separately, Mercedes-Benz is recalling two model year 2016 GLE Coupe 450 AMG 4Matic vehicles that were built between July 11, 2015, and July 25, 2015. The affected vehicles may be equipped with rear head restraints that may not stay locked in the upright positions at very low temperatures.

The recall should begin in October 2016 when dealers will replace the rear head restraints.

Mercedes-Benz owners who have questions about either recall should contact the automaker at 800-367-6372.
