Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. NHTSA — Air Bags: Frontal Problems Notes: The 1997 CL suffered from repeated failures of the driver side power window. Acura replaced the power window motor under their standard warranty and is some cases even offered warranty extensions, perhaps side-stepping a recall.

Upon starting vehicle, SRS indicator stayed illuminated. Vehicle has never been involved in an accident, and the airbag has never been deployed. Dealer has diagnosed as poor resistance in the wiring to or within the passenger side airbag. Dealer reset the indicator. If re-illumination occurs, dealer states a need to replace the airbag wiring harness or the airbag itself.

When vehicle was involved in a crash with a 18 wheeler, there was no deployment of the driver's side or passenger's side air bags. Vehicle was hit in the rear first, which made rear end spin around. Vehicle was hit again on driver's side. Most of the damage was done to the driver's front.
