The passenger side soft door closer stopped working. I had to manually shut the door, and at times the door would not latch and I had to hold it while driving. It was fixed by a certified BMW service provider at the cost of over $1,200. Also, the auto trunk stopped working and I now have to close it manually. The certified BMW service provider said that it would cost approximately $800 to fix.

Own 2008 BMW 750 w/ soft close doors. Having the same issue as the 2005-2007 750S that have been recalled. At 35 mph, door flew open and I couldn't close. Sometimes it latches and sometimes it doesn't. cpo just expired 1 month ago. Dealer wants $ 1800 to fix. I know other owners w/ soft close doors - nothing but headaches. Considering the 2008 has the same doors as the 2007, I cannot imagine why the recall didn't extend to the 2008 also.

I previously filed a complaint with the NHTSA approximately 1 week ago to report that the driver's side door on my vehicle suddenly stopped latching closed. I took the vehicle to an authorized BMW center in princeton NJ to have this issue diagnosed and resolved. They replaced the door lock actuator and the door latched closed as it should for about a week. 1 week later (today) the same door latch exhibited the same problem, only this time it became unlatched while I was driving on a local road. The doors were locked prior to the driver side open swinging open and proceeding to unlock. This leads me to believe that the door latch actuator was not the problem, and there is a much bigger problem here, or that princeton BMW did not replace the part as they claimed (and billed me for).
