I cannot believe a 61000,00 dollar auto would have these problems this soon...In doing research I found that the parts that failed were plastic gears,PLASTIC!!! ...on the all wheel drive transfer case ,this problem has been a problem since the early2000s..........it's no wonder bmw has gone backrupt several times.....when this car is running correctly it's great to drive, feels solid and safe and goes like hell...........I also own a bmw 1998 z3,2.8 and never had a problem. it has 60000,00 miles on it ................because of the expense to fix, I will do the repairs myself and take it to a mechanicto reprogram the computer......good luck
