The contacts wife owns a 2013 BMW X5. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, a loud clunking noise was heard coming from the vehicle. The contact pulled over the side of the road and discovered oil was emerging from under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, they determined that the front drive shaft bolts failed and the oil tank was punctured. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 101,971.

The contact owns a 2013 BMW X5. While driving low speeds, the contact heard a loud abnormal noise under the hood. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to bluegrass BMW (3235 park ave, paducah, ky 42001, (270) 444-0660) where it was diagnosed that a hole needed to be repaired in the engine and the driveshaft. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.

2013 BMW X5. Consumer writes in regards to airbag and driveshaft failure safety recalls. The consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to be repaired. The vehicle has two recalls 16V-071 and 17V-138. The dealer informed the consumer the parts were unavailable. Updated 08/11/2017
