I was washing my wife's car and noticed that there were two small dents right next to each other in the sail plate of the Enclave. I asked my wife if she knew how the dents happened. She had no idea what could have caused it. We called Mr Dent for an estimate. When he came to inspect the vehicle, he noticed multiple dents along the sail plate going towards the windshield. Then he inspected the other side and found multiple dents along the sail plate also. We decided to wait on the repair.

One day in talking with a body repair man, he said if they were all along the sail plate, that the problem was with the adhesion used on the sail plate and it was separating. I took it to the locla GMC dealership and was told GM declined the claim of defective sail plate. It has been too long and that the only time they have heard of this was in other states and it was caused by hail. I live in California and it's a cold day in hell when we get hail. For hail to only hit the 5 inch wide strip of sheet metal on both sides of the car, entirely missing the hood, roof and any other sections of the car is impossible. This is a defect and GM is not honoring their warranty.

I'm looking for any advice from people with body repair experience as to their thoughts of what would cause little dents along the sail plate only on both sides of the car. The car is two years old with only 8,000 miles and is excellent condition. The dents are hardly noticeable, but if there is a defect in the adhesive, I don't want continuing problems.
