The contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that the vehicle would overheat. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the inner head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that when the vehicle was shifted into gear, the engine stability light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer five times and the engine stability light was reset. The repairs were covered by the warranty. During the most recent appointment with the dealer they informed the contact that a mechanical switch was defective and needed to be replaced at his expense. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The current mileage was approximately 70,000.

1. no warning. 2. excessive oil consumption. Cadillac is aware of this issue and needs to issue a recall before one of their engines uses all the oil, over heats, causing a fire that kills someone. This issue is all over tsb forums 3. beyond adding 5qts of oil between scheduled oil changes nothing. I cannot afford the $5000 engine rebuild for their mistake.

1. no warning 2. engine will stall for no reason at any speed. Could cause vehicle to wreck resulting in death. Has happened numerous times with the loss of all power has resulted in running through stoplights and signs because could not brake properly. 3. took to dealer for diano stated crankshaft sensor needed to be replaced. Have replaced twice now.

Warranty up at 50,000 miles at 55,000 miles, 'service engine' light came on. Had it checked and entire engine needs to be removed and fixed via code 734. Cost is $3,000. Told that others have had this exact problem with Cadillac.

2002 Cadillac Deville customer states that the car started cutting off by itself* the dealer states that the vehicle needed front brake pads and rotors. The brakes were pulsating but the repair for the brakes have not been fixed as of yet.

: the contact stated that while driving 55 mph the vehicle engine suddenly stalled. There were no symptoms before the incident. After the incident occurred the engine work properly. An independent mechanic replaced the crank sensors to repair the engine. Updated 7/25/2006 - the consumer has the faulty sensor in his possession.

During cold starts the engine would knock fro app five minutes. The manufacturer performed a temporary repair for the same problem at 7000 miles. The knock returned at 11000 miles. The manufacturer refuses to fix the problem permanently until three temporary attempts have been made.
