Vehicle has 120,000 miles on it and has a random misfire, with traction control and stabiltrack warnings and a flashing check engine light. Engine has excessive oil consumption and runs rough. Installed new plugs and wires, no change. After reading up on these engines I found out that the afm / dod feature is a common failure for these engines. GM should step up and help owners with some of the repair costs. This is going to be expensive.

Stabilty light came on, loss of power, check engine light, rough shifting into 2 gear. It has been down for 2 years. And not fixed yet, Chevy dealership does not know what tpo do. There needs tobe a recall on the flex fuel. We were going down I-20 when all this happened. There was nearly an accident

Stabilitrak and reduced engine power comes on at rates of sometimes 3-4 times per day. No common denominator I.e. weather, road conditions, time of year..can be driving down interstate at 70 mph or sitting idle in park. This is very dangerous when driving loved ones around. Unfortunately I've gone as far as having a diagnostic computer hooked up at all times so I can clear the computer every time it happens in order to drive again. I've had the throttle body cleaned, changed. Computer changed and reset twice...nothing has helped. This has been happening for years someone needs to address this before someone is severely injured or worse

We were driving down I20 when we were coming off the off ramp and the stabilization light came on and we got to the stop sign to turn right and as were take off it shifted really bad out into 2nd it jerked really bad and we had no power we made it home and now it turns over but will not start. 2007 avalance it has 50,000 miles. I have been talking to other people on car gurus and there are thousand on that sight having the same problem were having. And the sad thing is we dont have the money to have our truck towed into town and get it fixed. Becasue they tells us that they have so many people having the same problem. I feel like GM should do a recall or people should be able to do a group lawsuit toward GM for such a big deal like this is. And also our dashes are all cracked down the middle. Which on that sight there are alot having same issue.

Stability control warning pops up on display, resulting in a severe power reduction. This causes the vehicle speed to drop from 70 mph to around 35mph instantly. This nearly resulted in a rear end collision, of course. This was only prevented by a very alert driver behind me. I read that this is a very common issue with GM vehicles yet nothing is being done by GM to provide a safety recall

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500. The contact stated that there was a constant loss of speed and premature motor failure. The motor was replaced by an independent mechanic, but the electronic stability control (ESC) warning indicator kept illuminating. The contact stated that the manufacturer issued four tsbs on the ESC. The dealer (williams Chevrolet, 2600 us-31, traverse city, mi 49684, (231) 946-1111) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted to determine if the remedy and part were available for NHTSA campaign number: 16V383000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

There have been continual problems with the engine of my truck and I have found out since buying it there are severe problems with a lot of the engines of the 2007 Avalanche. The mechanic told me when we brought the truck in to find out why the engine had a hesitation in it, that we should hope it was the exhaust system seals needing to be replaced that caused the hesitation because the only other times he had seen this problem it was a manufacturing defect in the 2007 GMC engines that he had seen these problems with alot of the 2007 Chevy and GMC trucks including his own. We also about 2 months after buying the truck noticed that the truck was going through oil very quickly but the mechanic said that the seals weren't leaking so didn't know why we were burning oil so fast. The dash has cracked at the corner of the air bag and if there is an accident it could send shards flying. The drivers door sticks and the stability control go's in and out of working order. The electric mirrors stopped folding in and tilting down and tried to have it fixed but Chevrolet said they wouldn't give the mechanic the code to get into the computer system to fix it and the back up sensor that had stopped working also. We now have to go to a Chevrolet dealership to have it fixed. There have been so many problems with these trucks that Chevrolet hasn't fixed these trucks even used usually cost at least $15000 brand new you could double or triple that price I don't think it's a lot to ask to have a decent engine the other problems I could deal with but the engine problem they should fix

Entered interstate 74 in Indiana, got up to 65 mph and traction control light came on along with the check engine light. Had 30 miles to go to get to destination so kept driving and lights would go off after about 3 minute interval and would come back on. This happened about 8 times during the trip. Finally the lights went off and did not come back on as of yet. My wife and I heard a clunking noise during this period of time. Very concerned that this may happen again when my wife is going to grocery store or any where by herself and get stranded somewhere. She is afraid to drive the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche now.

As I was driving my Avalanche the stability track and traction control turned on my truck reduced power to half and it pulled right. I drove into lots of dirt and my brakes were affected too. I have been having issues with my 2007 avalance stabilitrak traction control turning off intermitingly. I have had my truck to the dealer 3 times on this issue and I am still with the same problem. This started over a year ago and when bringing it in for service there were no codes found for this problem. Today after picking up my truck once again and paying the dealer to replace the remote control door lock receiver being one of the codes showing this did not solve the problem and the part removed was still good. It seems to me that the service dept at the Chevy dealer has no clue on how to solve this problem. Everytime I start my truck even sitting at idle the bell starts chiming and the triangle signand the warning reads service stabilitrak then service traction control (off) activates within a few miniuts. This keeps going on and off as I am driving and when its in the off position the trans shifts gears very hard. Looking trough this forum I can see that this had been a major problem in the past with 2003 and up and there are many people talking aboutthis issue with their trucksbut I have not come across anyone who can give the answer on how to resolve this problem. Dose anyone else have this problem or have heard of this being a problem with an answer.

My main concern is the fact that the vehicle burns excessive amounts of oil. I have lodged about five complaints with ourisman rockmont Chevrolet and my concerns remained unadressed. They did, on one occasion, change a gasket cover and oil pan gasket, but the problem persisted. Finally, I was recently told that I needed an oil deflector per a service bulletin and was told it would cost nearly $1,500. Although my concerns were all made during the warranty period, ourisman is attempting to charge me now that my vehicle is outside the warranty. I contacted Chevy customer service but no luck.

I was driving approximately 50 mph when my "stabilitrak off" indicator light popped on followed by "traction control off" and finally "service stabilitrak". this all happened in a matter of 10 seconds so I slowed down and tried to turn in a parking lot but my wheels locked as if I was pressing the brakes although I wasn't. my truck came to a immediate stop by itself. I searched the internet to see what could cause this problem and noticed that this has been happening for the past 10yrs or so on GM vehicles without any specific reason why. This is definitely a safety issue that needs to be addressed.

This vehicle has had oil consumption problems since purchased. It runs out of oil 1500 miles after an oil change. Several consumer complaints have proved this is a very common problem and suggested reporting it to the epa. My truck now needs a new engine because of this common defect with the afm and bad lifters in the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. It is completely abnormal for an engine to burn this much oil into the environment. Not to mention the consumers who are now being forced to replace engines due to this problem. It needs to be fixed.

So I was sitting at a red light, everything was cool.. and when I started to accelerate the truck almost felt like we got rear-ended. Then when I tried to accelerate it felt like it had slipped into neutral. Drive is completely dead, when I put itinto drive, I get nothing. So I put it in 1st, and it worked, it went into gear. Then when I started to accelerate it made this horrible scratching/grinding/whining sound. So I can accelerate slowly and switch to 2nd, slowly, and accelerate slowly and switch to 3rd. 3rd feels good when I accelerate but then if I step on it, it slips out of 3rd back to that neutral feeling. If I try to accelerate quickly in 1st and 2nd I get that horrible sound and grinding feel.it is so many people having this same problem over and over. Some say the dealer charge them over $2800 plus to repair others say some dealers fixed the part in the trans called the forward sprag gear and everything was ok. Its crazy that so many people with the same problem. 95 percent of the trucks despite the mileage ( 30, 000 to 93, 000) on her truck did this right after the warranty was up. My truck 07 with only 62, xxx on it trans has now done the same thing as everyone else truck. Someone should force GM to recall these transmission and fix them. Word is they used the same transmission that's in mid size cars and light duty trucks and if so everybody will have issues with a full size truck and a light duty transmission!

The linear position of doors are irregular, the front fender is beyond usual meet. The plastic structure of the back is not in alignment with the body.the rear-view mirror vibrates which is a hazard at night, anyone can mistake the flickering as the cars changing lanes when not the case. Since the doors are not properly aligned the wind, dirt and mist of water, bypasses the weather strip. There is overspray on black exterior paint. Since it was up on a ramp the dealer said the only way I could see the inside or test drive was if I got pre-qualified, that ended up been my sales contract! when the truck was lowered down they gave me the keys at 7pm which was dark in the fall, so it was very difficult to distinguish. Repairs to the fuel pump, distortion of the windshield, the body defects, rear-view mirror, loud squealing brakes, the handles of the doors that has peeled and the steering wheels inner faces has also peeled. The stabilizer light came on when my fuel pump wentout and since then it does not stabilize the chassis when in contact with natural hazards such as rain, sand, S now and any type of uneven terrain. My tire pressure light appears periodically, although my tires are inflated with nitrogen. My right tail-lights linear position is irregular, but normal on the left side.my battery has gone dead on my once for no apparent reason. My gas cap indicator light also comes on periodically and it has been replaced a couple of time. My passenger front doors frame has a malformation where it makes the weather strip seem un even or falling off. A problem that still can't be repaired is the carpet that isn't fitted and is loose.unfortuneately, its very a attractive truck, but the experience has been a nightmare that I still cannot awake from. I want GM to acknowledge the occurring problem & buyback the truck. Complaints began 09/01/06 and has been in the shop for extensive repairs 9 times & spent 60days & counting.
