Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Owner Comments

problem #2

Oct 122012

Cavalier 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I have seen numerous cavaliers, same year with the same problem. Hood usually starts first, then the roof, then the trunk. Now the side around the gas cap is doing the same. Car has been garaged entire time I have owned it(except driving it of course), and kept clean. I used to like cavaliers before this, company just trying to save money on substandard clear coat.

The paint peeling off roof, hood, and starting on trunk. I traded in a 10 year old car with no paint problems for a brand new cavalier and it's ridiculous that I have to spend money on a new car or get it re-painted.
