The clicking has been going on for a very long time. It is extremely annoying as I live in a region where air and heat are always used. The only time I can get it to stop making that loud clicking is when I turn the knob in between the first and second settings. It won't make a noise there but if it goes on a direct setting it make an awful noise.

When heater dial is on front passengers, loud clicking occurs, when dial is on all over car, it stops.

I have this car in 4 separate garages looking for this clacking noise in dash. to date they cannot find where it is coming from. one told me it is not the heater motor. if anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just a wonderful surprise from the car that keeps on breaking. I have looked into the cause of this constant and really loud rapid clicking coming from the dash. Most likely it seems to be a faulty actuator in the ventilation system. Some on the web claimed they paid over $900 to get this problem fixed ($.10 Chinese part, sold for $30 by the dealer, $870 labor to install).
