I have the most pristine 2003 50th year anniversary Corvette in existence. Absolutely flawless. It's been garage kept and never seen rain, lives in Florida. I am now trying to sell it because of the last 2 times I have driven it I've had problems getting it home. Both times had to be flat bedded to the repair shop.
The first time the shift cable had a broken cheap white plastic piece that snapped leaving the car stuck in drive. When I shut car off it wouldn't start again because of it being in drive.
The car was flat bedded to repair shop and plastic piece replaced. A week later same scenario but worse, the cheap plastic cable assembly broke this time again leaving the car in drive.
Apparently this is a common problem that should be covered by a recall as its bad enough not to have a spare tire, or have a jack to jack up the car but to be left with your corvette stuck in whatever gear the cable breaks in is pathetic.
By the way the Dealer says this happens all the time,
