My issue is the Alarm System in my 2013 Chevy Cruze. And maybe other GM Vehicles with their so called Alarm Systems. I just found out that you probably could destroy the exterior or your car, Smash All the window out . The Alarm Will remain silent.

The only way the Alarm will be activated is if someone pry's open the Door, Hood or Trunk. The Owners Manual states If there is an attempt To open the doors, trunk, or hood. On a locked vehicle the alarm will be activated. Lights will flash Horn will sound. Not True ! You might as well not even set the Alarm. I wouldn't leave anything of any value in the car, glove box, center console, trunk. Especially the Holidays. All anyone would have to do is smash the window and climb in an clean you out . Even pulling the rear seat down to empty the trunk. Without the Alarm ever going off as long as they don't open the door. The Alarm would remain silent. I found this out because my car got hit late at night . If the Alarm worked the way the manual says lights flashing, horn sounding, I might have known before the next morning when I saw what happened .

So I'm having a real Alarm System Installed. Unfortunately, at my cost. I'd Check your Alarm Systems. If you value your car or belongings.
