Within a week of paying the $760 for the repair, I receive a notice from GM that the side zone alert message warranty is being increased to 80,000 miles or 6 years due to issues with water intrusion into the unit. My LTZ Cruze is 5 years old, but had 89,279 miles on it when I took it in. I did wait until it needed an oil change, so when the problem first occurred, there were around 85,000 miles on the vehicle. I chose to fill out the reimbursement paperwork thinking maybe GM would cover since this is close to their extended warranty. GM chose to deny the claim. Additionally, I had to wait nearly a month for the part to arrive as the side zone alert module was backorder due to high demand! I went on-line to discover that in fall 2018 another Cruze customer initiated a class action lawsuit against GM for this very issue.

I have owned a Chevy Chevelle, a Malibu, an Astro van, a Suburban and now a Tahoe and Cruze.

I am thinking it is time to end my long-term relationship with GM.
