The ECM in my vehicle appears to have an intermittent failure that can cause it to send the vehicle into WOT at any time at random. I was stopped at a traffic signal. It turned green, I let off the brake and my vehicle learched forward for a second, and then, all of a sudden launched into and hit the vehicle in front of me. I tried to push down the brakes, but they were too stiff, and, no, my foot did not even get a chance to press the gas yet. There was only minor damage to my vehicle, however, the situation was extremely scary. I have since changed out the ECM and have had no issues since. I have seen this issue once before on a similar vehicle, except, what happened with that is the vehicle was in a garage, and the ECM had failed nearly completely and stuck the vehicle in WOT. In my case, I was still able to drive the vehicle home, so the issue appeared to me intermittent. I still have the original ECM for further investigation. As I understand it, this ECM is in thousands of GM vehicles, across multiple lines. GM Part Number: 12611090.

Https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=10&V=gdjl1_rofhe please watch the youtube link above to clearly see what happened. I was driving on a road with a 40 mph speed limit. Fortunately nobody was in front of me for quite a while because this very easily could have resulted in a very dangerous accident. I was behind a car going under the speed limit so I changed lanes and saw that a car now behind me in the lane I had moved into was driving fast so I floored my accelerator to match speed and avoid cutting them off. At the point when I backed off the gas I noticed the pedal was stuck floored and I was accelerating alarmingly fast. Only by pumping the breaks repeatedly and kicking the gas pedal did I knock it loose. The incident probably lasted 2-5 seconds and I probably reached 50-55 mph. It was very fortunate that nobody was ahead of me for a good ways but it was really terrifying. If I had been approaching an intersection or red light or crosswalk or just traffic up ahead this could have resulted in an accident. I checked for obstructions and there wasn't any junk down around the gas pedal. I started to think about my floor mat and remembered that I had replaced it recently with a thick rubber Goodyear mat. The bottom of the mat reads "driver side, " "50-1000210, " and "jh 1700 K443. Photos attached below. The bottom of the gas pedal had become caught in a groove in the floor mat and stuck pressed all the way down. Photos of the documentation on the floor mat attached below.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 10 mph and accelerating, there was an abnormal gushing water noise exerting from the dashboard area. The check engine and service traction control indicators illuminated for approximately 30 seconds and then dimmed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (don ringler Chevrolet, 777 S general bruce temple, tx 70502) where it was diagnosed that the thermostat and coolant needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (Dodge country, 1902 E central expy, killen, tx 76541) where it was diagnosed that the heater core, coolant sensor, and B pass hose needed to be replaced. 2997 Chevy Equinox - the car was in motion around 60mph, while driving the brakes activate by themselves and the ABS, stability track lights come on. The vehicle stalled in the interstate several times. The car would not move when I accelerate. It seems at if all the brakes are active and not allowing the car to move. After almost getting clipped by a semi I had to think fast. I read the manual and found the ABS fuses. In order to move the car I have to remove the ABS motor fuse and the ABS system fuse. This bypasses the system and the car is able to move. I have taken to a mechanic and they replaced dealer parts ABS module and ABS modulator "motor". I paid $1800 for the repair. Car has same issue as I drove a way from shop. When it stalled after repair I removed the fuses again and drove it back to the shop for repair again. Shop says these parts replaced are dealer parts and they will replace again with new parts. Called the Chevrolet dealership on this and they mention that there is no issue/recall with this at the time. The car has $80K miles and has been at the shop for two weeks still under diagnostics to try to determine the cause. Frustrated!

While driving either on city or freeway the car started shaking, jerking, and vibrating really badly when applied pressure to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not gain speed, instead it would slow down and it felt like gas was not going trough. It first started 3 months ago took it to for an oil change and the recommendation I received from service agent was to get fuel system cleaned and change the transmission fluids which cost me around $298. The same day it did the same thing while driving on the freeway, so I let it be for a while but it continues with the same problem and have contacted service agent but have no solution for me. The other issue it has is the key always gets stuck, and need to turn the car back on then turn the wheel, but sometimes it takes more than this to get the key out from the ignition switch.

Approaching driveway and suddenly the speedometer showed I was doing 90 mph and I knew this was incorrect as I was slowing down to make a turn off of a highway. Now the speedometer may work correctly for a few miles and then it shows that I am driving a speed above what is allowed or what I know is untrue. Took to a mechanic and he says the speedometer motor needs to be replaced. For past 3 years the check tire sensor monitor comes on when making a long distance trip. For past 2 years the passenger airbag light comes on whenever anyone sits on passenger side. Mechanic says cluster panel needs to be replaced. This vehicle will be traded for something else as I feel unsafe in it now.

I was driving on the highway when the vehicle lost power and started shaking really badly...I would push on the gas to try to gain power but the vehicle did not respond. I exited to the nearest autozone and had it testes..something to do with the gsr valve and throttle and fuel system. So I changed the parts that I could but now it's having the same reaction. Now the air conditioning is not working properly as well. I've had to buy tires but they keep wearing because something is wrong with the stability track.the air bags need service. And now just two days ago something is wrong with the speedometer. The motor also makes a weird sound...over all I don't feel safe in my vehicle anymore. Now the vehicle still shakes and I have to buy tires again.it shakes very badly. Ai just did an oil change and it already needs more oil.

Cruise control acceleration button "stuck" down in acceleration "mode" and car continued to accelerate. I had to press the brake to disengage the cruise control. This button "sticks" or gets "stuck" in acceleration "mode" on cruise control and the only way I have found to disengage it is to tap the brakes and disengage the cruise control.

Once again, driving on a busy highway my stabilitrac light came on and my engine was powered down. My vehicle is once again in the shop having the throttle bottle replaced. The first time this happened, the mechanics just cleaned the part, this time it is being replaced. When your vehicle powers down, you lose the ability to safely maneuver your car- potentially causing an accident.

On 1/28/13 I replaced the throttle body at GM certified dealer. Truck was diagnosed with code P2135 for failed throttle body and connector. While driving my 2007 Chevy Equinox it displayed service traction control, service stabiltrak, engine power reducing and check engine light. On 7/5/13 I returned my truck back to the dealer. They diagnosed the truck again and replaced the part a second time. Now on 8/19/13 the truck was back at the dealer for third time and same issue. Dealer diagnosed my truck and could not find anything wrong at the time after I complained of same issue displayed on vehicle. 9/11/13 the service traction control/stabiltrak with check engine came on again. I took the truck back to the dealer and showed them video of the problem happening. This time they said they would diagnosed it and get to the bottom of my complaint. I called GM that day complaining of the same issue from last month. GM reopened my case and said it would be transferred to another department level. The dealer called me later in the day and replaced the throttle body and connectors free of charge again. Every time while driving this truck I was traveling with my children and almost had accidents with this. This is unsafe and GM needs to have a recall on this part and model of truck. Some thing has to be done before it becomes fatal!!! hopefully this time the problem is corrected.

Getting back onto the interstate the door locks started clicking and the speedometer hand starts going haywire. In the weeks and months to come now the AWD, traction control, service engine soon lights come on. The steering wheel jerks, weird noise goes through the speakers and all gauges and door locks go haywire. Has been put on a machine but no codes come up for the mechanic.

Engine light turns on and says the stabilitrak needs servicing as well as the traction control and that they are off, also says that engine power is reduced. This has happened about 5 times in the past 2 months and each time that I have an appointment, the light goes off and the dealer says they cannot diagnose without a check engine light on. This concerns me. Autozone hooked up there little gadget while it was on once and indicated that the throttle position sensor may be the culprit, said it came up three times. Power steering column locks up when I turn on vehicle, this has happened a few times in the past 3 years, each time I take to dealer, they cannot duplicate the problem and therefore cannot fix it. I have had vehicle since July of 2007. My current mileage is 42,998 the first error with column started probably in October of 2007 and occurs every so often but by the time I get it to dealer, it cannot be duplicated. What I have to do is turn the car on and off until it "registers" and then the column works otherwise it is very stiff and hard to nearly impossible to turn.

The throttle position sensor fails and causes the car to turn the stabilitrak and traction control off, and reducing the engine power. This is very dangerous while driving down the highway. The car will not go over 40 and the engine repeatedly revs up and down on its own.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 40 mph, the contact heard a loud noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they stated that the front passenger side hub bearings were defective. The vehicle was repaired. Approximately two months later, she noticed that the ABS indicator was illuminating on the instrument control panel. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they stated that the box for the all-wheel drive was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired again. Recently, while driving approximately 3-4 mph, the contact heard a popping noise while making a right turn. The vehicle also began to vibrate. When she applied pressure to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not gain speed and began vibrating uncontrollably. She pulled over to the side of the road and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact was informed that there were no defects with the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired for the latest failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage was 39,006 and failure mileage was 30,000.

I had 2 Chevy Equinox 2007 model, loaded. First vehicle repurchased due to multiple episodes of stabilitrak failure, turn signals quit working, radio problems, passenger system airbag not working, and finally failure of main airbag system. Given exact twin of first car, as thought that car was just a lemon. 2nd Equinox had 2 episodes of stabilitrak failure, and a new steering column placed, and then had total system failure of the steering, brakes, gas, stabilitrak, and airbag system while driving the vehicle. I had absolutely no control over any of these systems! you could turn my steering wheel 360 degrees, and the wheels never moved, the brakes didn't work, the gas didn't work, and all alarms were going off that the systems, including the airbags were not working. Luckily, no one was injured as I had just begun making a turn into roadway and all vehicles coming at me both ways were able to swerve, and the car was going slow enough and over a slight incline that it rolled to a stop just before hitting a steel light post. This car was also repurchased. Something is very wrong in the engineering of this vehicle and I am concerned for all the other people owning/driving this vehicle.
