Every time it rains and/or my car gets wet the front passenger floor gets completely soaked! I have checked everything and cannot locate the source of the leak!

ok so I consistently found water in the trunk area of equinox. I thought it was rain water from roof rack but it was stale moldy windshield washer fluid from the rear washer hose that broke in the liftgate. so now we don't use the rear window sprayer or else we will have water built up in the spare tire well

2008 Chev Equinox LT Awd 3.4L 117,000 miles

lady next door had scum growing in her windshield washer can and it smelled like hell. she spent 40 min running all the old stuff out and another with a gardening hose so I thought let me flush mine too. Been having problems with the rear washer no spray the fuse was good so i ran it for about 10 min and the passenger side c pillar was building up water and then draining down in to the spare tire well. i had cleaned water from there before but couldn't find out where it was coming from till now. i read other post about the water in the spare tire well and the auto dealer mechanic replaces the roof rack gaskets and rear lift gate seal and i'm sure charge an are and a leg i don't know how I'm going to fix this but I'm not paying the dealer $550 buck to replace parts that don't solve the problem.

Water collection in the spare tire well. Once full, the water spills into the rear passenger deck. Smell awful, problems with condensation and fearful of rust, mold and mildew as a result of the problem. Currently at the dealer (we do trust them...Wife's family has been doing business with them for over 40 years.) and we'll provide some resolution when it has been corrected.

Update from Dec 22, 2011: We took the car back to the dealer...twice. The second time, they spent two and a half days going over the vehicle, spraying, checking, spraying checking. They determined the gasket material(s) in the luggage rack and rear hatch had deteriorated sufficiently to allow water to seep through. They removed every scrap of old gasket material, replaced it, re-tested it and we find that was the solution to the problem...Roof mounted luggage rack and rear hatch gaskets. The dealer was really fantastic; they took the time to listen. So far, the problem has not re-appeared.

For several weeks now I have been smelling a "rotten" smell coming from the back seats of my 2008 Equinox. Upon searching the entire car for the cause of the smell I finally decided to open up the spare tire well. As I did this I noticed there was an excessive amount of water in the well. The water had mildewed and was making that pleasant aroma that I had been smelling. I removed the spare and the cloth mat to let them dry and am hoping that will work for now. Has anyone had any luck getting this fixed at a dealership?
