Do modern cars still rust after a few years? I guess the Chevy Equinox does. The worst part about it is that in Canada there is a recall for it, but not in the United States!!!!! How ridiculous is that!!! They acknowledge the problem in Canada but not the US? IT IS THE SAME CAR!
When I mentioned it to the dealer they said the best they've seen GM do is fix it for 50% off, which would still make it a $600 dollar fix.
Update from Sep 20, 2018: The Canadians get a rust repair fix but Americans don't? This is terrible. IT IS THE SAME VEHICLE! Same winter conditions.
Clearly a flaw in the design and execution. TERRIBLE!!!!
