Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Impala LS 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,700 miles

this problem has been really annoying, but i cant even count how many times i have had to turn off the traction control as soon as i start the car. i do it automatically as soon as i get in the car now... its not really a problem if you turn "trac off" on the instrument cluster to the left of the steering wheel.

I had the shop replace the speed sensor in the right front hub, that seemed to do the trick for awhile. Have them scan it to see which wheel is the bad speed sensor. that only worse for awhile though, as i see the previous owner of my impy had also replaced a speed sensor. putting dielectric grease on the wiring harness works as well

I was driving on my way to work one cold and snowy night. Since its snow so much and i always almost get stuck i learned to turn my traction off till i un-stick myself. I hit this MASSIVE pot hole at a slow speed, so i was lucky but the SERVICE TRACTION system indicator light came up in my message box. It goes off and come on all the time now along with the ABS light. I don't know what this problem is but i really hope it is not expensive.
