Impala LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Noise- Humming like Sound as if the transmission is not going into proper gear.
Moving steering wheel I believe to the right reduces loud sound but does not eliminate it.
Noise is constant. Automatic on the floor. Changing gears doesn't make any difference.
Thought if manually move floor shift would make any difference but it did not.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

There is a ( whining ) noise coming from the transmission and seems to get a higher pitch as you increase your speed, also I have noticed that it seems to be searching for the right gear, sometimes it seems to go into overdrive and then immediatly back out of overdrive. There does not seem to be any slippage at all. I have checked the fluid and it's always on the full mark ! ( no leakage at all ) Just curious if anyone can relate to this same noise and proper gear searching ???
