We need advice on this problem please. My husband is pretty handy with cars but does not know anything about these TRACTION SYstems. We want to save money bu fixing the problem ourselves.

The traction system "grabs and grinds" when not necessary. It is worse when you turn the wheel or mash the brake. PLEASE HELP US!

when I Give it a little gas to go usly just when im first taking off the Traction Control kicks in but if I let off the gas it kicksback off. Then again, go a few blocks and hit the brakes and the Antilock brakes kick in some times it turns off the traction control and abs it seem like this is a problem with a large number of impalas and every one is shelling out a lot of money and still have the problem I don't have that kind of money can you tell me what is wrong or should I trade it in for a ford I am 46 and have always been faithful to Chevy but if im stuck with a factory defect ford here I come.

Well, as everyone else who owns an impala from 2000-2005 they've probably had this problem. They are stopped and then hit the accelerator on a dry road and the traction control comes on. Then you go and stop and the abs kicks on for no reason at all. I've taken it to the dealer and they couldn't get it to do what i told them it did. So, I decided i'll check it out. I found water in the cables! There is a fix that worked for me. There is a cable behind your front wheels, you have to take the wheels off to get to it. Once the wheels are off, turn your wheel so you can get to the cable harness behind the rotors. Unplug the cables and see if water comes out of them, if water does, then just blow it out with an air hose, or just let it dry. Once it is dry, plug it back in and the problem shouldn't occur. Its crazy but it works, something must have been shorting out. This is the 2nd time the problem has happened, and every time it was just water in the cables. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Only about 35K, but the Traction Control light is starting to blink for no apparent reason, much worse things to come according to the reports registered on this site. Will check with Dealer.
