I use the sun shade quite often, never had any issues. Funny how when I was on my way to the dealership to address electrical issues, that I attempt to open the sun shade and it tears itself apart. Unfortunately, my extended "premium" warranty won't cover this. This is the third time I'm bringing in the car for electrical issues (glad I purchased the warranty) I asked the dealership to make me an offer after repairs.. hopefully it will be reasonable, so I will never have to see this car again. I've loved all of my GM pickups, but this car has really turned me off to GM.

sunroof sunshade stuck/ /broken

Yesterday 06.20.2019, the fabric in the sunroof mechanism became stuck and unattached from the sunroof. The fabric hangs down blocking the view of the rear view mirror. When I try to close it the fabric continue to shred, so it best to leave it open with the fabric pushed together.

Update from Jul 2, 2019: The cost of repair is $1057.00. The part is $300.00 and labor is $757.00. Chevy would not provide any assistant with this problem. Do to the fact that the car has to many miles on it.

Impala LTZ 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

The sunroof shade started coming apart two years ago, but I was 2 months past warranty. So I glued it back. Today the fabric got jammed in the mechanics of the sunroof and became unattached from the sunroof. Now, every time the sunroof is retracted the fabric gets chewed up in the mechanical parts of the sunroof and stops working. IT IS TOO HOT THE DRIVE IN THE DAY TIME WITH THE SUN SHINING ON MY HEAD. Ugh!
