I am afraid my brakes will fail because this last time the brakes made an awful creeking noise and the ABS was on. The light coming on more frequently the past 2 weeks and will go off on occasion. I just had new brakes in January.

ABS light came on durring routine braking and you can defenetly feel & hear a strange vibrating twanging noise. Since my warrantee had just ended I was able to persuade GM to share my expense (just under $2000) in the ABS repair. Now two years later at about 92000 miles I'm starting to experience this all over again and I hear GM is announcing an ABS recall for several other models of approximate vintage but my 2000 Malibu is not listed.... GM, the Spins gotta stop now. Expect my call today.

My dash looks like a Christmas tree. I fixed the ABS light problem a few times and finally gave up when GM wanted to charge $750 for a defective ABS module. The transistors in this module were under rated and resulted in premature failure.
To make a long story short, after researching on the Internet I learned that the replacement parts were also defective. I had other expensive repairs done in the past only to have themn occur again so I decided not to waste money on this one.
Wheel sensors were also repaired a few times and I finally gave up on these too. Junk!
