I purchases a 2008 Malibu in June 2009 with 31,000. In the past 20 months I have had more problems with this car than in the 12 yrs. I had my 96 Cougar Bostonian which had 134,000.
Around 48,500 "Door Ajar" display, interior lights coming on and bell chiming and driver door not staying locked. Both the driver and passenger door sensors replace, the driver manual door lock button replaced. Check engine light came on twice: first time flap in fuel tank pipe was stuck in open position and the second time the seal on gas cap was bad. Cost to replace over $500.00, luckily all this was covered under the GM Major Guard Extended Warranty.
Now 10 months later at 49,900 again "Door Ajar" this time I'm told it's the door latch that needs to be replaced. Also they are unable to set tire pressure on one of the tires because the tire valve is rusted, and the "Heat" is now not working properly, blowing cold air! This is crazy, I have never in my life had so many problems with a car not to mention this car is only 4 yrs old!! I feel I bought a lemon.
