We bought this car new and noticed a rattle coming from underneath and felt it somewhat in the steering wheel. We took it to the dealer and they "re-positioned the steering gear box" and that quieted it for a couple of weeks and then it started again. They again re-positioned the steering gear box and checked to see if there was any kind of service bulletin or recall....there was not. This happened another 2-3 times and we were finally told that it was not a safety issue and that "all Malibus do it". We have been driving it with this rattle/clunk/banging ever since. It is always worse when the weather is cold. It does; however, sing me a song that goes like this"Never buy GM again, never buy GM again" to the tune of Follow the Yellow Brick Road".
