The wiper transmission linkage has plastic bushings that wear out or break with time. Chevy doesn't sell the replacement bushings, which would cost about 75 cents. Instead, they force you to buy the entire linkage assembly for $160.00. I went to Advance Auto parts and bought an assortment of wiper linkage bushings for $4. Fortunately one size did fit. I've heard of other people using the Dorman bushings, but they report that although they initially work, they break after a couple of months. It's been a couple of weeks since I fixed it and so far so good.
