Apparently there's a computer thing that needs to be replaced. They told me it will be about $600 for it all to be done including reporgrammed. It should be testing at 5 volts and only firing at 2-3 volts.

I bought this car almost 2 yrs ago from a pre-owned dealership. I owe a lot of money on it, I cant afford the high repairs an pay the freakin car note. It's frustrating. Please can someone put this 2010 Malibu on the recall list? I drive with my grandchildren in my car and I don't need my car stalling on me. The damn esc light comes on saying service traction and loses power. I turn it off and start it up and the problem goes away. That's not right, what if someone runs into the back of me? That's frightening!

Malibu LT 2.4L L4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,100 miles

I was driving though the mountains in Tennessee when I was going down a hill all of the sudden the esc, airbag and power steering lights came on (may have been more lights)? The next thing I knew my car shut off and my steering locked up ! Pretty scary!! I was able to coast going up hill to the side of the road which was not in the safest place. I let it sit a while and the car then started up and ran as if nothing wrong. Not long after spent about $550 on a new alternator and battery. And that occurred after my transmission went and was replaced.

When I arrived at my friends I went to a local Chevy dealership and they ran diagnostic etc. and came up with a strange code after researching it the replaced an emc module that was 703 more. and the problem still not fixes as another 200 mile down the road the same thing happened again !! this time it was the alternator again! And since this dealership did not do the work I had to pay another 340. I called Chevrolet to start a complaint. they were no help they said due to the miles on the car they were not liable for anything ! I will not likely by Chevy again even after 25 years of owning them!!

Malibu LT 3.6L V6

I bought the new 2010 Malibu LT 3.6L V6 to replace a BMW that was recently totaled. Unfortunately I did not have time to wait for the BMW I wanted to replace my totaled vehicle with so I decided to purchase a temporary vehicle. The wife liked it so I bought it. Fully loaded and with On Star and XM. We were happy for 1 full week. We had put 251 miles on the car when it shut down on us while driving at fairly low speeds. I called On Star and reported it. They did a diagnostic and found nothing. So I thought maybe bad gas. I kept driving it for 1 more week and refueled 2 times from different gas stations. It stalled 3 more times. I brought it into the dealership to get it looked at. They have had it 6 days now and it finally stalled on them. So now I am in limbo waiting to see what is going to happen. If anyone else out there is having this issue, please post it. People need to know what is going on. The vehicle manufacturers now a days wont tell you. They would rather sell a POS and make their profits now. Unfortunately the wont make out in the long run now that the internet is here to keep a trail of their crap. I hope this helped at least 1 person out. I will post more when I find out the information on what they do to remedy this situation or remove us from the vehicle since it is BRAND NEW!!!

Malibu Summit 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,400 miles

This car was suppose to be a birthday gift from my husband and when I picked it out it only had 8 miles on it, now it's 35 days later and it's having problems stalling while driving, and that it so unfair to consumers like me who are so excited about the purchase of their first new car and it malfunctions in the middle of traffic . What if I was an the freeway and my baby was in the car and someone rear-ended us while this happened, Or my husband could have been seriously hurt during this malfunction.

I have lost all confidence in this car capabilities and I feel cheated and scammed. I think dealerships should have to update themselves on defects and recalls on all vehicles and there should be a review of them with the consumer before any sales are done also if they were in the same situation how would they feel, and I think this matter really needs to be investigated because they are putting innocent people in harms way by not knowing what they are saling. they should keep up on every car that has a defect what the defect was the make , model and the year of the car at the dealerships as well so they wouldn't be thought of as careless .

Malibu LT 3.6L V6

This 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was a rental right off the showroom as my 2010 Malibu is in the shop for stalling. The rental stalled on me... Then they replaced this one with yet another Malibu off of the lot and today I almost hit a person walking when the vehicle shut down on me also. This is absurd. 3 Malibu 2010 models in a row all under 300 miles. Is anyone else having this stalling issue? Please report it on here. I would like to think that I am not the only one having this issue since it has happened in 3 vehicles.

THE VEHICLE IS A 2010 CHEVY MALIBU. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND IT NOW HAS 758 MILE ON IT. IT STALLS WHILE DOING SPEEDS ABOVE 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE STEERING BECOMES DIFICULT, THE BRAKES BECOME LESS THAN EFFICIENT AND IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING. EVERY TIME THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED IT WAS ABOVE 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE. IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN 758 MILES. THEY ARE LOOKING AT IT AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW AND I HAVE 2 OTHER AQUAINTENCES THAT HAVE THE SAME CAR WITH THE SAME ISSUES.
