short in wiring
This was the worse decision of my car buying history. I started having issues with different systems failing but they would come back on. It started with the steering wheel radio controls and then went to the power steering failing and then to the traction control and finally the rear window defrost. Then it went back to the steering and then the traction control. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a short in the wiring in the steering column. Of course my warranty was out but there are three recalls for electrical issuses on the 2012 chevy malibu. The dealer as well as chevy said that I would not be covered under the recalls because of my vin #. It seems that since my car was built with the same parts in a factory that was not covered by the recall then the recall did not pertain to me. I spoke with chevy customer service and they stated there was nothing they could do and no one else i could speak with. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau but for not all I can do is hire an attorney and fight it.
