Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

While driving the radio and interior lights go out and power steering stops working. Seems to happen when left blinker is used. Headlights will flicker when this happens also. There is no warning prior to shutdown. One occurrence car completely shut off on its own after power surge. Very unsafe to drive this vehicle, I almost hit a parked car because of this failure. It happens on highway or neighborhood. Car is parked at dealership til problem can be resolved. Odometer has 53,000 miles on it.

While driving at night went to roll up power windows which in turn caused my headlights to flicker and all dashboard instruments including radio to temporarily stop working. Subsequently gets worse which each occurrence. Last occurrence automatic headlights came on and subsequently caused loss of power steering and airbag light illuminated. Gratefully was able to retain control of car. Since first occurrence it has happened at least six times and seems to happen at night or while headlights are on.

Neighbors woke us up at 3 am to tell us they just put a fire out on the car. 2013 Chevy Malibu purchased with 2 miles on it and had it for 8 months..went outside to check and first was smothering. Came in house, while calling insurance looked out the window and the car was on fire again. Called 911 and went out to spray water on it. Put the fire out and waited for fire department and police. Fire department opened the trunk and tore the carpet away from the light and sprayed the inside of the car. The car was towed to the dealer the next day. Now one month later they said it was the wiring harness. The dealer can not say why it happened but want to fix the car and give it back to us, even though themselves and the insurance company said they would not get back in it either. We just asked for a car of equal value, anything on the lot (preferably not Chevy and did not have to be new), now it looks like we will have to get an attorney because some are calling it totaled and some are not. Phone calls are not being returned and if they are we get different answers to the questions. Really sucks. Our neighbor has cameras around her house and the whole thing is on camera. We have 2 other Chevy's currently, but will probably be getting rid of them.
