1998 Silverado had anti lock brake sensor replaced. The front wheel brake sensor was replaced on 10/4/2005. On 12/25/2005 the consumer read an article which stated that General Motors had expanded it's recall on the antilock brakes to include Wisconsin and that consumer's would receive notice by 2/1/2006. The consumer contacted the dealer who indicated that GM had not issued a recall. The consumer then called GM who also stated that there wasn't a recall.

Vehicle under normal usage, no off-road use, no towing no warning lights truck stutters at low speed stops with normal brake application, can feel movement in the brake pedal but seems as if truck will not stop. Have bumped into guard posts at convenience store ( no damage ) took to dealer at 53248 miles, not repaired. Dealers' diagnosis ( M001 diagnosis, needs both front wheel hub/ bearing 544ct 53248needs front wheel bearings) service dept. Rep told me when I explained the problem to him that it was an ABS issue that they were familiar with, and that I would need both front hubs replaced at a cost of over 1000 dollars, could not afford.
