I had a front left wheel bearing go on my Silverado 4x4 well there is no bearing replacement any more (I guess it doesn't make gm enough money) they sell you a complete hub speed sensor bearing assembly now for $400.00 bucks. I changed it 10 months and 1day ago and it's blown again and yes I did buy a GM replacement part which is supposed to be the quality1 parts HUH BULL **it! They have to give me another hub assembly and I can tell they don't like it (1 year replacement warranty) but no labor. They now want the vehicle serial , license # mileage , etc., so it seems like they are trying to keep track of the frequency when these parts are failing .. A good friend of mine leased a 2003 Silverado 4x4 for 3 years and it never left the pavement when the lease was up the dealership had to replace both front hub bearing assemblies and the truck had less than 30,000 miles on it. So take that for what its worth, do gm 4x4s have a bearing problem ? Well they have for me and my buddy. How can you trust these guys?

well..... the noise started about a few months ago. Its like if i hit like a big bump or like a hill on the road or offroad.... it makes a squeaking noise like on metal. I think it is when my upper and lower control A arms move up and down with alot of drop it makes that noise. Its just on my driver side. I think it is my control A arm bushings but im not sure. Anyone know of anything else it could be?

I have a high pitched tone (squeal) coming from the front. I believe it is the right front corner. The brakes are like new. I changed them last spring. I took it apart again today though to re-check it. there is no problem with the brakes. The noise comes and goes whether the brakes are applied or not. Usually it comes when I turn left in a gradual curve. Lately, it has started to do it when going straight down the road. If I turn the wheel left and right the squeal will sometimes go away for a short while. It starts its coming and going after you have driven it a couple of miles.

The front suspension clunked over any bump. Under standard warranty, GM replaced the steering column, but that didn't fix it. They then replaced the coil spring seats, which did fix it, but only long enough for my warranty to expire. About 30,000 miles later, the problem arose again. I don't plan to fix it because there are too many other problems with the truck to make it worth it. Shame on you, GM.
