Truck idle does not increase with load such as air conditioning. At an idle such as a red light to change, the air shuts down, and starts again when you pull away from the light and increase engine RPMs.

Silverado LT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

I overall enjoy my truck....I will say I have nearly every damn thing replaced on it...so i guess that makes it new. First it was the Transmission Revving up when it goes from 2nd to 3rd gear (faulty transmission drum). Then it was the instrument cluster just working erratically (faulty instrument cluster recall). Finally it was the DAMN 4-Wheel drive lights not working on the push buttons (faulty electric module thingy underneath the engine that tells transfer case what gear to get into)......ALL THAT WAS FIXED.....but now its the engine idling weird...I crank it up, sit there for a sec., and then just tap the accelerator and the engine revs up and then drops RPM's almost to where it "chokes" off. I have replaced spark plugs....still does it. I had the alternator tested....it's fine. Anybody have any more suggestions?????
