A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

i WAS WORKING OUT OF THE COUNTRY WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED. i DID NOT FIND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM UNTIL i CAME HOME, WHICH WAS ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER. BY THAT TIME MY TRUCK WAS OVER 70000 MILES, SO GUESS WHAT IT'S MY PROBLEM. IT DID NOT MATTER THAT THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, (QUITE HARD FROM AFRICA). MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND I WAS NEVER TOLD UNTIL I CAME HOME AND FOUND OUT FOR MYSELF, BUT AS EVERYONE ELSE HAS MENTIONED IT WAS TOO LATE. SO I GUESS I'M STUCK JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH A PURELY DEFECTIVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND NO MANUFACTURER TO HELP REPLACE DEFECTIVE PART. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CHEVY PERSON, ALSO OWN A 2005 SUBURBAN LUCKILY THE CLUSTER IS STILL WORKING, BUT IT ALSO HAS OVER 70000 MILES SO IF IT STOPS WORKING THEN I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO FIX 2 DEFECTIVE VEHICLES.

Silverado 1500

  • Manual transmission
  • 57,000 miles

One day My oil gauge suddenly dropped to zero. The oil level was less than a quart low and I could detect no unusual changes in engine noise. I changed the oil/filter and started again. After traveling about 7 miles the gauge bottomed out again. I shut the engine off and turned it back on and the gauge read normal again for a few minutes. The engine has always knocked a little when it was cold and temps. here were in the single digits (very unusual). Is this a common occurrence with this make and model?

Silverado W 4.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 102,685 miles

The gauge stopped working when my speed gage stopped. They are related.

The dealer said i would have to pay for repairs. They do not cover after 70000 miles. This is the way they get out of paying for faulty electrical components in the truck.
