Silverado LS 5.3L V8

I had my truck in the shop of Weber Chevrolet, Waterloo Illinois. Several times throughout the warranty times and had asked for this 4wd light to be corrected and never was, but reset by a machine. Time down the road it comes back on, but again cleared by your professionals, never repaired or corrected. Now its out of warranty and it is stuck on me!!! Another beef is the led dash lights and radio lights, temp controller lights are all going out slowly!!!! Dash is starting to peel.

Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

Sometime in December of 2011 my service 4 wheel drive came on took the truck to the dealer I was told that it was more than likely the switch I had the switch replaced and now it is doing it again. Don't know what is causing this to go out again, there are times when the service 4 wheel comes on the light may say it is in 4 low neutral, 4 high or nothing at all. Can't keep replacing switches, after a month there has to be a reason this keeps happening.

Silverado 1500 Z71 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

I had a 2000 Chevy Z71 before purchasing my 2004. Basically it is the same truck, but it seems there are little differences. The door strips are coming loose, the 'service 4wd' is on the display, the seals around doors are coming off and the speedometer wasn't working. Yes and all of this time I an STILL paying for it all. The seals/strips aren't that big of a deal, but the 'service 4wd' is certainly a problem. This of course happened when the warranty ran out. I called the dealership and the gentleman told me that he knows about the problem, which I'm guessing has been on a number of Chevy trucks, but I still have to pay about $800 to get it fixed. WHAT.......$800??!!!! This doesn't make sense to me. I still have a year to pay the truck off, but you still want to charge me $45 to look at it and another $800 to fix it? My next step is to go straight to GM to find out about some sort of recall. FYI: It feels like the tranny is slipping, but it has something to do with the computer.
