GM should be recall all these trucks & replace these %#@*??##!! units, it was a Battle to get down, had to block up the spare then grind cut the hanger in half for it to let go. watch out the tire has to be supported, it can break bones, esp on 16 in. 265 tires.
The unit seizes due to road salt & sand, then the cheap wrench that comes with the pack strips out, it was - 22c at nite had to go back at it the next day took 4 hours
to have it drop down, nice job on a highway @ nite, thanks for this invention GM
