My air bag light came on for no reason and it is not on the recall list. Is there another list for recalls. I have never had a accident or my air bag has never been deployed. Can you tell me if this will be fix though the recall. I'm concerned with driving it without no air bags.

The service airbag light came on. Called dealer told me warranty was over. I thought it is a national warranty on airbags because of the being a safety hazard for them to work properly. Updated 4/24/2015

My 16 yr old son and 12 yr old son were coming home from school on 11/10/2006, my 16 yr old was driving, he took drivers ed and passed the class with an a+. and when he took his driving part of the test he past with a perfect score the first time. He also raced gokarts, so he knew how to control vehicles and prevent wrecks. When the wreck happened, the truck just went up an embankment, and went throw the air and hit a tree and pealed the roof back like it was a tin can. There was no skid marks, the tire tracks went straight up the bank, like the steering wheel was locked. And not one air bag opened. They were less than a 1/4 of a mile from home. I was at the bus stop waiting on my daughter, I heard the wreck and the alarm from the truck was going off. I went to the site and the alarm was still going off, and the steering wheel was locked. My 12yr old died on site, my 16 yr old died 4 days later. I have known something caused the wreck, but not sure what until now. Now I know with all my heart the switch locked the steering and also made the air bags not work.

My 2006 Silverado 2500 hd air bag did not deploy during my accident on July 28, 2010. I tried sending all information in the mail but, you just sent it back to me. Coping that was sent to me from General Motors of their explanation of they are not the ones responsible for this because they didn't make this product. Not to mention that onstar didn't come on as they show on their tv ads'. if I had not regain conscience. Don't know when they would have found me there where I went off the road just 4 miles from my home. Don't know if anyone would have thought of calling onstar about looking for my truck. If GM vehicles are so safe and lead us to believe how" safe and reliable their vehicles are. Then why? they are not standing behind their parts now. The vehicle was total and the only thing that saved me was my seat belt. Even doe I was still badly injured from my neck to my tail bone. GM doesn't care to own up to no kind of responsibility for anything. I'm still afraid to drive my 2010 camaro because it has the same equipment as the 2006 pickup that I totaled. I drive it whenever I have no choice. When the Dodge truck isn't here. Every other week when my husband needs it. I've sent you all the pictures and some of the letters that GM's [xxx] has sent to me but, you didn't even open it all you did was send it back unopened. What's up with this????????????" my name is: [xxx], my address is:[xxx]; [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the air bag indicator has remained illuminated for over one year. She found that if the air bag indicator is illuminated, the air bags will not deploy. The dealer has previously repaired the vehicle, but the failure persists. The contact discovered online that there were a couple of consumers with the same issue. The vehicle will be repaired, but the dealer does not know if they will perform the repair. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 43,000.
