Well I have taken in the truck for brakes now three times. They say that the brake are suppose to squeak all the time so I guess I got to get use to it. I sure hate dealing with the dealers they are some times no help.

Actually, I am having the same problem as everyone else with the brakes here. This is the second time I am addressing this issue. First time was at 26,000 miles front right inner brake pad was gone and outer was at least 50% worn drivers side was about 50% on each pad but both rotors were shot. I should of replaced the front right caliper but didn't. so now at 18000 miles later the brakes are shot again. Oh, the dealer said it was wear and tear and was because I live on a dirt road. I am now just going to suck it up and replace the whole front brake system with aftermarket performance parts. I should have bought an F-150

I own a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS. The calipers went out on the front right and was wearing out on the front left. Also the rear drums had to have work on them too. I went to a firestone to have them checked. They were wore out. i have not towed with this truck either. Just normal driving. I called 1-866-790-5600 on 05-04-2009 2 days after the repair was done. I was basically told that the only way anyone would get help is if and only if they took it to a dealership. They have ASE certified mechanics there that can fix the problem. The place that did the work had and ASE certified mechanic too. Hmmmmm makes you wonder huh?! Well I will not do business again with GM because their customer service is terrible. So good luck calling the number above they aren't much help at all. No wonder they are going broke.

well first my front tires were worn on the inside (bad alignment right) wrong. dealership said were and tear.yhe right got new tires and had align checked from goodyear not dealer... nothing is wrong w/ alignment. dealer again said were and tear. next day brakes started making nosies taken to local mech. getting breaks done mech said to come down and take a look.... the pass side front break pad was missing from the metal thus worn out the rotor so bad it had to be replaced. call again Chevy mech manager you guessed it were and tare. mech unable to bleed breaks. ha bad master cylinder replacing now. filled compliant w/ GMC corp office 1-866-790-5600 please do the same, because all the front pads are tearing away from the metal. total cost so far $1600.00 that is your noise problem. i only have 18500 miles. were and tear???? i don't have 36000 + i wounder how the new dodge or ford P/U's run

Silverado LT 1500 EXT CAB 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,000 miles

I bought this truck brand new in june, i have never had any brakes go bad this fast, even when i buy the cheap ones they last longer than that. The day after i noticed the brakes were making noise, i checked to see how long they would make it and the rotors are already grooved and now i have to replace them to. But of course the dealership will not warrantee them and its an estimated price around 6 or 700to fix.

This new 2007 Silverado went in to the shop for squeaking brakes, and the dealership told us it was wear and tear. We accepted that but 3 different shops told us the same thing, it was the calipers that were shot. When I reported this to the dealership which should of been working on the vehicle they said oh well. Here we are paying on a warranty that is doing nothing for me. The dealership won't help us get this fixed and the money keeps coming out of my pockets. So I am paying for nothing, the GM people don't give a damn. I am ready to trade this vehicle in and buy a Dodge at this point since GM and Chevy are being of no help to us.
