This happened twice to me, once leaving for work on a frosty morning and with very little effort the handle broke away from the body. and the second time my friends wife tore one away because she thought the door was unlocked and it wasn't. Doesn't take much effort to dislodge these.

I purchased this truck in April 2010 and paid $15,000 more for it than any truck I have ever owned. It is literally deteriorating! I have numerous trim problems with this truck, from the door bumpers falling off after owning for a year, to dashboard peeling and cracking to interior and exterior door handles falling apart. I have owned Chevy trucks all my life and this one is the biggest disappointment.
