i am now at my THIRD replacement. i guestimated the time this first happened. the truck is not 2 yrs old yet so it happened early on.. i noticed the drivers door first. then checked the passenger side it too was weak due to the plastic gave way / cracked.. had both replaced.. then maybe 3 months later it happened again on the drivers side.. replaced it.. .. that one is now cracked i have just put it off bringing it back. It's the plastic base, inside the arm rest, under the hard rubber padding that cracks..it must be potato chip thin. i am not hard on my truck, at all... its pampered, i weight 185#.. i have done nothing abnormal or excessive for this to happen..its just cheap. i'd like to fill it with foam but afraid i'll void the warranty. the dealer doesn't care about resolving the problem just replacing the door panel and get paid by the factory . i reported it to chevrolet they told me nothing they can do its a "design issue", can't redesign the truck now.. i realize this..but they should have a solution... instead they sent me a $100 gift letter to make me happy...it didn't work. i'm still pissed with chevrolet & the truck.
